Technically the bathrooms next to Rooster's are the schools responsibility but I mean its not the bathroom you should chose if you can hold it in and make it to the next one I would. The sinks don't work very well. The tiles are dirty and old. The hand driers feel like someone breathing on you. It smells obviously and the stalls are cramps and filthy. Don't use em.
General comments:
A bit pricey but its an independent run shop by the grad students. It's great to support your community and they do make good stuff. I love there smoothies. The passion fruit is my favourite to add in to any mix. The coffees are dope, well made a leagues above the Timmies next to it but about double the price I think.
Late in the evening unlike Timmies you can get some free stuff. I worked at Timmies and they're business strategy is cheap service so people can get stuff on a budget. Rooster's is more of a let's give you good stuff and treat you well kinda business. The free stuff is things like muffins and cookies last time I got them. When closing if they can give away their last batch of food before closing instead of trashing it, why not? It makes you happy and the food was already a loss for them. At Timmies they just through everything in the trash every 8 hrs and make new stuff. I saved lots of bagels. PS The overnight crew is pretty chill at most Timmies.
The level of quality and the service you get at Rooster's is defiently better than their neighbour.
Also the food options are way more than the Timmies. The one next door offers basically nothing filling and Rooster's has sandwiches different bagels, and more interesting doughnuts than a honey dip.
Worth a try. -

So a friend of mine and I went to the 613Christmas Fair which was held at the Fieldhouse at Carleton University and afterwards we just wanted to sit down, have a coffee, and chat. I pulled up my Yelp App and it lead me to Roosters (100m away from where we were).
Roosters is a typical (non-chain) university campus eatery. It serves coffee, tea, baked goods, and basic sandwiches and breakfast items.
Both my friend and I got a drink called "Iced Awesomeness" lol. It's basically espresso, your choice of milk (skim, 2%, soy, or lactose-free), ice, and your choice of flavour shot. We both got the small size which was $2.66. I got mine with skim milk and an almond flavour shot.
I honestly couldn't taste the almond in my drink and I found the ice a bit gritty. In my opinion it definitely could have been better blended. The drink was ok, but I wouldn't order it again.
If I were to base my rating solely on the drink I would have given them a 2, but the place was clean and seemed like a great place for students to hang out or study. The staff were nice and I'm giving the place the benefit of the doubt, so I'm giving them a 3. Maybe their food is better. And being there reminded me of my old university days - elsewhere though, since I never studied at Carleton (and I'm a sucker for nostalgia).
I'm glad they were open on a Saturday. Roosters is not a place I would make a special trip to visit, but if I was on campus for some reason I would be open to going back (although I'd probably try a different drink). -

Food is not great (cold ingredients in stiff pitas, made surgically) but the atmosphere is fitting for a campus lounge.
If you must eat it though, try the souvlaki or chicken club pita... I guesssss.
I RECOMMEND: If you're on campus, it works for drinks. A beer sure hits the spot after a long day of lectures. -

Roosters is quite a popular spot for Carleton students and professors. It's always packed in the morning and at lunch. There's usually a lineup and you're lucky if you can find a table to sit at. If you do, your spot's pretty much secured for however long you want it, whether it be for studying, eating, socializing, or all of the above.
They have sandwiches, bagels, and pitas, with a ton of different fillings, including bacon and eggs for breakfast, tuna, club sandwiches, souvlaki, fresh and grilled veggies, cheese blends, smoked meat, and tofu. Their prices are moderate, and actually quite affordable for a restaurant on campus. I had their chicken club pita, which came with an unbelievable amount of veggies and was really fresh. You'll definitely be able to get a health meal, be full enough to last through class, and get a good amount of food for what you pay for.
They're also very popular for their coffee, as they offer a pretty good selection of brews, lattes, espressos and cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and teas. You can even buy some of their ground coffee or whole beans to take home with you. If you're not into coffee or tea, they also sell pops, juices, iced beverages, and smoothies. -

Roosters is an awesome place with awesome food. I don't recommend their smooties, those are so fake. They are known for their pitas & they serve breakfast all day long.
